ANTACID MIX
This is a mix of
asafoetida, mint and Ayurvedic herbs designed to aid optimum digestion and
soothe indigestion. Many vets believe that some stable vices may be due to
indigestion and prevention may be a sensible option as the ealier the vices
are caught and treated the more likely they are to be helped. It is thought
that indigestion can be a major cause of stress and underperformance in many
horses. All the ingredients in the mix are natural herbs and are safe to
use under current rules. Ulcers can beneficially be soothed and
minimised by using Antacid Mix and those horses prone to ulcers fed on it
lessen their incidence.
Feeding
10grams per 100kg
bodyweight, an average 16.2hh horse is about 500kg. Mix well with feeds and
offer feeds little and often always having plenty of good quality hay or
grass available. The amount given may be safely doubled if necessary. 1kg
will last an average 500kg horse about 20 days.
