LIVEAID  -  The Pegasus Health UK patent registered name for Livol from

Indian Herbs International

Fast detox for liver and entire system

This Ayurvedic Herbal Formula from India has been extensively researched and trials carried out in India which confirm our own anecdotal evidence for it's efficacy in detoxification of the liver in liver disease generally, toxin ingestion and laminitis.  While in treating the latter anti-inflamatories, analgesics and diet adjustment remain crucial, the use of LiveAid to detox the liver speeds up recovery and in many cases our anecdotal evidence shows that lives can be saved and a useful life continued if treatment is instigated early enough.  In addition LiveAid is very useful for the veteran and convalescent animal as it gives added energy and puts on good condition quickly.

The liquid is a very fast acting compound essential during acute phases. Feed In acute phases at the rate of 20ml per 100kg bodyweight when 1Lt will last a 500kg horse about 10 days, but can be doubled or even trebled where time is at a premium .  For general maintenance of the veteran or convalescent it should be fed at the rate of 10ml per 100kg bodyweight when 1Lt  will last an ave. 500kg, 16.2hh. horse 20 days and reduce amount to 5ml/100kg for longer term use when 1Lt will last an ave. 16.2hh, 500kg horse about 40 days.  All new items should be introduced gradually to the diet  where time permits over 2 or 3 days to ensure acceptance of a new taste and in the very rare case of  reaction.  It should be noted that in extreme toxity tests in India no animal died as a result of being over-dosed on LiveAid. No banned substances under rules.

The Powder is designed for longer term use and is useful as a guard against hidden ragwort in hay for example. It is very difficult for an animal owner to be aware that a toxic plant such as ragwort has been ingested and when hay is a part of the diet the possibility of a stray piece hidden inside a bale is ever present.  By the time any symptoms appear up to 70% of the liver may be damaged beyond repair.  By feeding LiveAid at this time the means to kick start the vital process of detox is always present and little or no harm is done.  The powder is fed at the rate of 10g per 100kg bodyweight to start and then reduced to 5g/100kg for longer term use. 1kg will last an ave. 500kg, 16.2hh horse 20 to 40 days. No banned substances under rules. Because of the feeling of well being that LiveAid produces some horses can have some extra enery during the first few days of introduction - find a quiet time in the schedule to introduce it.

Key Herbs in the Formula

Nigella sativa,  Picrorrhiza kurroa, Phyllanthus niruri and Citrullus colocynthus are reported to be effective against jaundice while Terminalia chebula, Phyllanthus embilica, Terminalia belerica and Citrullus coloccynthis are useful in correcting anaemia.  The Indian research showed that the former ingredients with their cholagogue action helped to increase the biliary flow and corrected jaundice while the latter herbs, perhaps due to their regenerating effects on the liver cells, helped in the synthesis of plasma proteins in correcting anaemia.  In addition Ichnocarpus frutescens, Nigella sativa, Fumaria parviflora and Andrographis paniculata were useful as antipyretics.
